Any sound in nature signifies the type of its source, as well as the nature of the event resulting in the sound. With lingual sounds there are intended but very complex significations (taken as complex meanings/concepts). Therefore, lingual sounds function as signs. We will discuss this semiotic aspect of lingual sounds.
