The verb ‘baxmaq’ is most possibly related to nights. ‘Baxmaq (to look) is an intentional job in contrast to the verb ‘görmək’ (to see) which is unintentional and is related to ‘gün’ (the sun and day). The root bax (look) goes back to the proto-word ‘baq’ from which the word ‘bağ’ (garden) as well has come around. Both ‘bax’ [verb] and ‘bağ’ [noun] are related to nights. ‘Bağ’ (garden, orchard) is located in ‘an’ (the sky of night) and ‘to look’ is the job done intentionally at nights at the garden in the sky. It has been the job that man most probably used to look at the sky of nights.
