Qış: winter
‘Qış’ (winter) is fact the dead time of the year. This dead time divides into two periods: böyük çillə (greater climax, governed by elder sister böyük qarı [elder witch]) which is forty days, and kiçik çillə (lesser climax, governed by younger sister kiçik qarı [younger witch]) which is twenty days.
In Roman calendar a year was considered as 10 months. It used to start from the first of March up to the end of December (the tenth month.) The remaining two months were considered as the dead time.
